USD141,55

Newly revised and edited in 1 volume. limited series. 471/1500

Isaacs’s journal is one of the first reports of a European on Natal and the kingdom of the Zulus. This first volume of the Travels and Adventures in Eastern Africa begins in 1825 when Isaacs went to Natal for the first time as described above. The major portion of the text consists of a detailed description of Shaka, King of the Zulus, his society, and culture.

The second volume of Travels and Adventures in Eastern Africa reports on Isaacs’s return visit to Natal in 1830 when Dingaan reigned here. Here he reports on the early white settlement; in addition, the volume includes a good deal of information on Zulu culture. (
