The Wild Flower Protection Society has provided paintings, photographs, drawings and notes.

To these have been added coloured plates illustrating Stapelia and some of its allies.

The matter has been arranged in a botanical sequence and

each of the four chapters contains examples of one of the larger groups into which flowering plants may be classified.
